DECEMBER 9
SCIENCE BEHIND THE STAR — The Crewe Astronomy Club will present “The Science Behind the Star of Bethlehem” on Saturday, Dec. 9. That’ll take place at Keysville United Methodist Church, located at 9290 Church Street in Keysville, beginning at 7 p.m. The program is free and open to the public.
DECEMBER 10
CHRISTMAS MUSICAL — “Hope Awakens in Bethlehem”, presented by the Charlotte County Community Choir, will be performed throughout the region. The final show will be on Sunday, Dec. 10, starting at 6:30 p.m. at Emmanuel Bible Church in Keysville.
DECEMBER 11
HEART OF VIRGINIA BAND — The Heart of Virginia Community Band will perform at Farmville United Methodist Church on Monday, Dec. 11, beginning at 7:30 p.m. The event is free to the community and the church is located at 212 High Street in Farmville.
DECEMBER 17
HOLIDAY TRAIN DISPLAY — Jim and Susan Kimbrough will open the doors of their home on Sunday, Dec. 17, inviting the community to come see Jim’s holiday train world he has set up. The train world, which takes up a room in their home, located at 900 Fourth Avenue in Farmville, includes a town with buildings and residents handcrafted by Jim. In addition to the 900 square foot layout, Santa Claus will be on hand, along with Mickey Mouse and some Disney princesses. This latest in the series of Christmas events is free and runs from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
CHRISTMAS PROGRAM — Cool Spring Christian Church, located at 3088 Ontario Road in Keysville, will hold their annual Christmas program on Sunday, Dec. 17, beginning at 6 p.m. Entitled “Comfort and Joy: An Old- Fashioned Christmas”, the event is open to the public.

WOMEN’S MINISTRY WORSHIP — A worship service with Confident Women Ministry is held every Sunday at 3 p.m. online via conference call. Services are led by Rev. Loretta Bailey and anyone is invited to call 1-657-390-7012 to take part.
ST. MICHAEL BAPTIST CHURCH — St. Michael Baptist Church in Drakes Branch holds worship services at 11 a.m. the second and fourth Sundays of each month Masks are required. The Rev. James E. Goode is the pastor.
SHILOH BAPTIST CHURCH — Shiloh Baptist Church, located at 125 Shiloh Church Road in Drakes Branch holds services every Sunday at 10 a.m. Rev. Dr. Horace B. Parham Jr. is the pastor. All are welcome.
AMATEUR RADIO MEETING — The Charlotte County Amateur Radio Club meets the first Sunday of the month at 1426 Estes Road in Chase City. The meeting begins at 3 p.m. Everyone is welcome. For more information, contact Jason at (434) 944-9100.
ST. ANDREWS BAPTIST CHURCH — St. Andrews Baptist Church in Cullen holds worship services at 11 a.m. the first and third Sundays. Sunday school begins at 9:45 a.m. the first, second, third and fourth Sundays. The Rev. Dr. Maurice Finney is the pastor.
BEAUTIFUL PLAIN BAPTIST — Beautiful Plain Baptist Church holds services at 11 a.m. the second and fourth Sundays at Beautiful Plain Baptist Church, Charlotte Court House until further notice.
HEBRON UNITED METHODIST — Hebron United Methodist Church in Saxe holds in-person services at 9:45 a.m. until further notice.
PHENIX UNITED METHODIST CHURCH — Phenix United Methodist Church, 225 Church St., in Phenix worship service is at 9 a.m. each Sunday morning. There will be no Sunday school.
MT. CARMEL UNITED METHODIST CHURCH — Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church, 1101 Mt. Carmel Road, in Brookneal worship service is at 11 a.m. each Sunday morning. There will be no Sunday school.
