Harold Emmitt Dodd, 88, passed away Nov. 27, at his home in Gloucester. He was predeceased by his parents, Emmitt W. Dodd and Mary H. Dodd; his wife, Arlene Dickerson Dodd; the mother of his children, Martha M. Dodd Wilson, and his son, Harold E. Dodd, Jr.
He is survived by two daughters, Mary M. Dodd and Margie D. Vernon (Johnnie) of North Carolina; three grandchildren: Christie Gourley, Charles Freeman, Jessica Cook and a step-grandson, Marshall Crabtree; four great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; one brother, Ralph Dodd of Charlotte C.H. and three sisters, Toy D. Adams of Danville and Mary D. Mason and Catherine Mylum of Farmville.
Harold grew up in Charlotte County and graduated from Randolph-Henry High School in 1953. He retired as a technician at the Water Treatment Plant for the city of Williamsburg.
A memorial service was held at Calvary Baptist Church, Hayes, on Saturday, Dec. 2
