One family was blessed on Christmas Day following a structure fire that could have left them homeless. In the early morning hours of Dec. 25 fire crews were dispatched for a reported structure fire, with all occupants out of the structure.
Crews arrived on the scene to find a one-story single-family home with light smoke inside and under the residence. After several minutes of investigating, officials found the cause of the smoke was determined to be a faulty heating element.
No damage to the house and the homeowners were able to return back into their residence.
“This was a complete blessing on Christmas Day,” said Bacon District Fire Chief Will Stembridge. “I am so proud of the volunteers who showed up and were ready to do whatever needed to be done to help the people in need.”
