Randolph-Henry High transformed into a glitzy Hollywood affair on April 20, as students were treated to a night in the spotlight. The school held a Hollywood-themed prom and after-prom party, featuring a venue adorned with elegant black tablecloths, feathers, and touches of red and gold.

Seniors had the opportunity to take a walk on the red carpet, where they were announced into the event, adding to the star-studded atmosphere. The crowning moment of the evening came with the announcement of Prom King Faiz Adul-Aziz and Prom Queen Madison Irving, adding a touch of royalty to the Hollywood glamor.

Muhammad “Faiz” Abdul-Aziz is the son of Sawsan Foxx and Bashir Abdul-Aziz from Red House. He is a Beta Club Member and will be attending Virginia Commonwealth University in the fall, majoring in Engineering. Madison Irving is the daughter of Angela Patterson and Jeffrey Irving from Keysville, VA. She will be attending Longwood University in the fall, majoring in Environmental Science.

The other members of the Prom Court include Caryea Boyd, Jamia Redd, Asia Winn, William Agee, Khalil McCargo and Jaylen Mitter.

After the prom

Following the prom, students transitioned to the after-prom party, where a myriad of games, inflatables, food, and fun awaited them. Throughout the night, prizes were raffled off, with grand prizes reserved for the very end. Thanks to the generosity of numerous donors and the support of the YOVASO grant, students left the after-prom party with t-shirts, party favors, and prizes such as Nintendo Switches, computers, TVs, and more. A total of 165 students attended the after-prom party, with 98 remaining until the very end.

“We extend our heartfelt thanks to our dedicated school staff for their hard work and commitment in making this a successful, elegant, and safe night for our students,” said Erin Davis. She works as Principal of Randolph-Henry High School. “Additionally, we express our gratitude to the Charlotte County School Board, YOVASO, and our local community churches and sponsors for their generous contributions to funding the after-prom party.”
