Wayne Willard Covington, of Red Oak, passed away Friday, June 28, at Chase City Health and Rehab. He was born August 19, 1942, in Charlotte County, and was 81 years old. He was the son of the late Dorothy Covington.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Martin Covington.
He was of the Christian faith. Wayne’s favorite hobby was spending time with his grandchildren and family. In his free time Wayne also enjoyed tending his vegetable garden and watching John Wayne movies.
Wayne Willard Covington is survived by: two sons, David Wayne Covington of Charlotte County and Claude Eugene Covington and wife Ann of Clover; three grandchildren, David Wayne Covington Jr. (Hannah), Sabrina Ann Covington and James Robert Covington; two great grandchildren, Rosaleigh & Isaiah Covington; two adopted sons, Rex & Will Clark and a number of siblings.
A graveside memorial service was held on Saturday, July 6, at 11 a.m., at Saxe Cemetery. The family received friends at the home of Claude and Ann Covington, 2174 Mill Road, Clover, VA 24534.
