Florence Ruth Strokos, 92 of Keysville, passed away Wednesday, June 19. Born Sept. 5, 1931 in West Virginia, she was a daughter of the late John Rufus Lang and Nola May Kelley Naylor. She was predeceased by her husband, John Aloysius Strokos and a grandson, David Buchanan.
Mrs. Strokos was a strong faithful member of the Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses of Charlotte Courthouse. She was a homemaker and enjoyed making wedding dresses for people, gardening and sharing things from her garden.
She is survived by two daughters, Faith Buchanan of Keysville and Rose Okeson and husband, Gene of Gretna; two sons, John Strokos and wife, Anne of Farmville and Daniel Strokos of Keysville; one sister, Anna Matheny of West Virginia; six grandchildren, Aaron Okeson (LaReya), Carrie Roncaglione (Adam), Timothy Okeson (Sunny), Stephen O’Shields (Tori), Tabitha Masters (Dutch) and Nola May Felker (David); and 10 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 27, at Charlotte Court House Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness, 1000 David Bruce Ave., Charlotte Court House, Virginia 23923 by George “Tom” Jones.
