Kenneth Richard Palmer, 77 of Drakes Branch, passed away Feb. 7. He was the son of the late Richard Cuthbert and Marjorie Bailey Palmer. He was also preceded in death by a nephew, Kenneth Scott Blankenship; and a brother-in-law, Dan Ellis.

Kenneth is survived by his son, Chris R. Palmer (Victoria) of Mechanicsville, his twin sons, Henry Palmer and James Palmer of Mechanicsville; two sisters, Connie Palmer Lawson (Donnie) of Drakes Branch and Janet Palmer Ellis of Wilson, North Carolina; one niece, Julie B. Bailey and her children, Autumn Dawn Blankenship and Colby Bailey all of Chase City; one nephew, Brent Bissett of Wilson, North Carolina; and numerous cousins who are cherished in many memories.

A memorial service was held on Feb. 9, at Cool Spring Christian Church in Keysville, Rev. Dave Richmond officiated. Two very talented ladies shared their musical ability; Sheila Hungerford of Keysville played the piano and Sue Wilkerson Palmer of Kenbridge played and sang several songs.

Kenneth had many friends: Franklin “Bones” Ashworth (deceased) formerly of Victoria, Carl Burns and DJ Letterman of Keysville both of which helped him tremendously through the years along with being wonderful friends. William Dix (deceased), Lawrence Shores, and Betsy Paige

Newcomb Long were special friends too; along with many more. 

The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville was in charge of arrangements.
