MARCH 1
STEW FUNDRAISER – Mt. Carmel/Phenix Missions Team will hold a stew fundraiser on Saturday, March 1, across from Lester’s Fast Mart in Sugar Hill, at the shop of Brenda and Jerry Bowers. That’s located at 3220 Wickliffe Road in Brookneal. There will be two pots of stew, one chicken and one with beef, at a cost of $9 per quart and $34 per gallon. They will be ready to go by 10:30 a.m. Pre-orders are welcome by calling Pat Moorefield at 434-446-3274. All proceeds will go to support missions.
STORYTIME — The Charlotte County Library will hold Storytime at its Wylliesburg branch on Saturday, March 1, beginning at 11 a.m. The library is located on Highway 15.
STEW FUNDRAISER – The Charlotte County Retired Teachers Association will sponsor a stew on Sat., March 1 at Keysville Auto Center in Keysville. Butch Shook is the stew master. The stew will be ready for pickup at 11 a. m., and the cost per quart is $10. Please call Linda at 434-547-9676 for preorders. The profit from the stew will be used to benefit the students of Charlotte County Public Schools. One of the projects of this organization is to give each second grader in the county at least one book.
MARCH 4
BEEKEEPERS MEETING – The Heart of Virginia Beekeepers will meet on Tuesday, March 4, beginning at 7 p.m. That’ll take place at the Prince Edward County Extension Office near Lowe’s. Local beekeeper Ryan Williamson of Sourwood Farm will speak on nectar management. For more information, call Mary Jane Morgan at 434-315-1433.

MUSEUM TOURS — The Central High Museum will be open for tours from noon to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, March 5. The museum is located at 401 Thomas Jefferson Highway in Charlotte Court House.
LENTEN LUNCHEON – Keysville United Methodist Church, located at 9290 Church Street in Keysville, will hold a Lenten Luncheon on Wednesday, March 5. That’ll start at noon, with residents asked to bring a sandwich. Drinks and a dessert will be provided. The speaker will be Rev. Ted Smith.
ASH WEDNESDAY – Ash Wednesday service at Keysville United Methodist Church will take place at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 5. The church is located at 9290 Church Street in Keysville.

DINNER & FIELD TRIAL – Palmer Springs Volunteer Fire Department will hold a Fried Chicken Dinner on Friday, March 7 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. with drive through or eat-in options. Plates will consist of fried chicken, green beans, boiled potatoes, a roll, dessert and water for $12 per plate. Preorders are highly encouraged by calling 434-689-2739 or 434-689-2631. The firehouse is located at 1697 Palmer Springs Road.

STORYTIME — The Charlotte County Library will hold Storytime for All Ages at its Keysville branch on Wednesday, March 12, beginning at 4 p.m. The library is located at 300 King Street.

ANNIVERSARY GALA – Meals on Wheels will celebrate 20 years in Charlotte County with an anniversary gala on Saturday, March 15. That’ll take place at the SVCC Workforce Development Center from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. It will include a catered dinner, live music and a silent auction. Tickets are $45 and can be purchased from any Charlotte County Meals on Wheels board member or by calling Ronnie Royster at 434-736-8441.

MISSIONARY PROGRAM – Mount Mitchell Baptist Church will hold their annual Missionary Men’s and Women’s Day program on Sunday, March 16, beginning at 3 p.m. The guest speaker will be Rev. Pamela Roberts of Chase City, with the Finneywood Choir of Chase City.
APRIL 12
EASTER EGG HUNT – The Charlotte County Library will hold an Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 12 at its Charlotte Court House branch, beginning at 10 a.m. The library is located at 112- 116 LeGrande Avenue.
