Peggy Tucker Copal, 95, of Saxe, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, June 5. Peggy was born on June 3, 1930 to the late William McKinley and Nannie McCulloch Tucker. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, David E. Copal; four sisters, Nina Dunn, Christine Garnette, Frances Hudson and Isabell Foster; and one brother, Cabell “Sam” Tucker.
Peggy is survived by her son, David Stanley “Stan” Copal; her grandson, David Keith Copal and his wife, Carlie; four grandchildren, Amanda Shepheard, Liam Copal, Charlotte Copal and Aurora Copal; one sister, Callie Tucker; and many devoted nieces and nephews.
Peggy was a nurse for 40 years, she worked for Dr. Ailsworth in Keysville until his retirement, she then worked at Heritage Hall Nursing Home of Brookneal until her retirement. Peggy was a member of New Hope Methodist Church.
A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, June 16, in New Hope Methodist Church, Randolph. Burial will be in New Hope Methodist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Keith Lauer will be officiating. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to New Hope Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Ludy Collie, 161 Mossingford Road, Randolph, VA 23962.
The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville is in charge of arrangements.
