Emmett Thomas Hamlett On Thursday, June 12, our beloved loved one, Emmett Thomas Hamlett entered into eternal rest at Southside Community Hospital.

Tommy as he was known by family and friends, was born on April 19, 1944, to the late Emmett Lynwood Hamlett and Beulah Nash Hamlett Saylor in Charlotte County.

He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Arthur Ray Saylor; three brothers, Gilbert P. Hamlett, Kenneth N. Hamlett and William H. Hamlett “Billy”; and one grandson, Daniel Wayne Tate.

He is survived by one daughter, Sharon H. Daubenspeck (Drew); one son, Thomas J. Hamlett “Jack” (Amy); a fiancé, Hazel J. Lockridge and daughter, Beverly Tate (David); grandchildren, Jason, Nicole and Travis Hamlett, Allen Wayne Tate, and Ann Marie Tate; great grandchildren, Colton, Amber Lee and Abigail; one devoted sister, Linda H. Wright (James); and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 20, at 2 p.m. at Salem Baptist Church in Charlotte Court House with interment in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 19, from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home in Brookneal. Condolences may be expressed at www.JeffressFuneralHome.com.
