The Pamplin Depot farmers market will celebrate opening day on Saturday, May 19 from 1-4 p.m. and continue each Saturday until Oct. 13.
“From our farms to our community. Providing farm fresh goodness to promote community wellness” said information from the farmers market. This is the beginnings of a new farmers market opening in the Town of Pamplin City. Local farmers are uniting in their goal to support one another by offering the bounty of their farms to the members of their community.
There is a growing trend to increase the concept of buying fresh from local farmers. Now Pamplin is joining in. Parents want to provide healthy, fresh options to their families but are forced to go through great lengths to do so. The new market will be an asset to the area by providing a venue for families to purchase local foods.
The market will be located outside the historic town train depot on Main Street.
The market is seeking vendors who wish to participate. Applications can be picked up and returned to the town office also located inside the train depot during the week, except Wednesdays, from noon-5 p.m. A general vendors meeting will be held on May 10 at 6 p.m. in the train depot. For questions, call the town office at (434) 248-6514 or contact the market manager, Adrian Gilbert at (434) 208-0321.
