Trick or treating times set

The towns of Keysville, Charlotte Court House, Drakes Branch and Phenix have released local trick or treating information in advance of Halloween next Wednesday.
According to a notice from the Town of Phenix, trick or treating would not continue beyond 9 p.m. in the town.
Additionally, children over the age of 12 may not participate.
“It is hereby ordained by the Town of Phenix, Virginia that no juvenile older than 12 years of age may solicit the citizens of the Town of Phenix for “Trick or Treat” nor continue it beyond 9 p.m. on the date each year that Halloween is observed,” said the notice. It continued recognizing Oct. 31 as the nationally recognized celebration for Halloween and said that should be the only date children may solicit the citizens of the town.
Additionally, the notice said “this ordinance shall be effective from the date of its second reading an passage.
Information from the Town of Keysville said Trick or Treating would be held from 5:30 p.m.- 7:30 p.m. in the town.
“Please use caution and drive slowly through town that night as the streets will be filled with little ones,” said the Town. “If you are going out trick or treating, please be careful and be sure to follow suggested safety precautions to have a safe and fun evening.”
Trick or treating in the Town of drakes Branch will not continue beyond 9 p.m. and an ordinance from the Town said it is the only day children may solicit the citizens of the town. For trick or treat.
Additionally, no juveniles older than 12 will be allowed to participate.
The Town of Charlotte Court House said trick or treating would be held the same time as last year, from 6- 8 p.m. in the town.
The town also said the event was only open to trick or treaters 12 and under.
