The 12th-seeded Randolph-Henry High School varsity girls basketball team lost 50-21 to host No. 5 King William High School on Friday in the first round of the Region 2A tournament to bring the Lady Statesmen’s 2018-19 season to a close.
“Overall I was pleased with the way we played,” Randolph-Henry Head Coach Donald Jack said. “We just got away from doing the things we did in the first half.”
The score at halftime was 25-15.
“We were trying to run with them in the second half, and that is not our game,” Jack said. “We are a team that needs to keep the score in the 30s for us to have a chance to win.”
Leading the Lady Statesmen in scoring was senior guard/forward Morgan Spencer with 15 points.
Randolph-Henry finished the season with a 4-15 record. See next week’s edition for more on this game and a recap of the season.
