Randolph-Henry High School’s (R-H) 12th-seeded varsity girls basketball team saw its season end Feb. 15 with a 50-21 loss to host No. 5 King William High School in the Region 2A tournament first round.
The Lady Cavaliers focused their defense on Lady Statesmen senior guard/forward Morgan Spencer, who finished with 15 points and seven rebounds.
R-H senior forward/ center Alexis Wilmoth added eight boards and eight blocks, producing what Head Coach D.J. Jack called “one of the best defensive games I have seen since I’ve been here.”
Jack said that when he thinks of his 4-15 team, “I would remember most that these kids are starting to believe in what it takes to win and that they never give up during the game, no matter what the score is. I think with the four wins they are starting to believe they can win if they work hard.”
