The 2019 Randolph- Henry High School varsity girls tennis team will enter regional play later this month with an undefeated record.
The Lady Statesmen completed their regular season schedule Friday by defeating visiting Bruton High School 8-1 to finish with a 14-0 overall record and a clear No. 1 ranking in the James River District. They have earned home-court advantage in their Region 2A tournament opener, which will take place the week of May 20.
Friday’s match was the first time in school history Randolph-Henry and Bruton have met during the regular season. The Lady Statemens played well enough to win the day with an impressive six singles match victories. They dropped one match in doubles.
