Randolph-Henry High School’s (R-H) varsity golf team entered its Tuesday tri-match with an 11-2 overall record, including a 7-1 mark in the James River District. This reflected that the Statesmen fell by one stroke to Central Lunenburg High School on Monday at Lunenburg Country Club. They shot a 179, and the Chargers shot a 178.
“We are currently tied with Lunenburg for the No. 1 (spot) in the district,” R-H Assistant Coach Eddie Pyle said. “Next time we meet them, it will probably decide who will be the champions!”
Leading the Statesmen individually in Monday’s match was junior Brenden Francisco and freshman Austin Queensberry, as each recorded a nine-hole score of 43.
