SEPTEMBER 29-OCTOBER 3 

REVIVAL SERVICES, 11 a.m. at Mt. Nebo Baptist Church in Abilene. Services each night will begin at 7 p.m. Dr. Wayne Hines of Lanexa will be the guest speaker. He has shared the gospel all over the world including, Ukraine, the Philippines, India, Guatemala, Brazil and much of the United States. There will be special music each night and a nursery will be provided.

OCTOBER 4 

FOOD SALE, 11 a.m. at Beautiful Plain Baptist, Charlotte Court House. Pig feet, green beans, potato salad, dessert and drink.

HOMECOMING PARADE, 5 p.m. for Randolph-Henry High School. Line-up will begin at 4 p.m. on Statesmen Drive. For more information, contact Patrick Shay at shayp@ ccps.k12.va.us

COMMUNITY MEETING, 7 p.m. hosted by Kay Pierantoni at Bacon District Firehouse for a discussion about your local government.

OCTOBER 5 

BLUEGRASS FESTIVAL BENEFIT, noon-11 p.m. at Philbecks Community Music House, 3 miles west of Keysville on Route 40 beside Strikefore Tire. Stew will be sold by the quart or bowl. Stew master “Heavy Duty” will cook up barbecue and fixins for supper at 5 p.m. Donations are appreciated. Five different bluegrass bands will be performing with an auction at noon. Raffle tickets for sale for homemade afghans, gift certificates and more. Free admission. No alcohol/drugs.

WINE FESTIVAL, 1-7 p.m. hosted by the Barksdale Cancer Foundation at the historic Gil-Har House in Phenix. Entertainment will be provided by the Stoney Ridge Band of Keysville and Public Consumption from Halifax.

OCTOBER 6 

FOOD AND FELLOWSHIP, 11 a.m. at Friendship Baptist Church, Drakes Branch, following the worship service to celebrate the call of its new Pastor, Andy Benton. The church is located at 239 Friendship Church Road. Everyone is welcome.

HOMECOMING, at Mt Calvary Baptist Church on Mt Calvary Road in Brookneal. Lunch will be served after the morning service. There will be no afternoon service. The public is welcome.

63RD ANNIVERSARY, 3 p.m. of the Royallights Gospel Singers at The First Baptist Church in Wylliesburg. Various groups will appear on the program. Come out and worship the Lord with us.

CHARLOTTE COUNTY HAMS TO MEET, 3 p.m. at Keysville Fire Station, 500 Osbourne St. Experienced hams are welcome along with beginners. Contact Dan(K5KHZ) at (434) 210-8383 for more information.

45TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION, 3 p.m. of The Barnes Special #1 at The Greater Hayes Grove Baptist Church in Union Level. Different groups will perform. Come out and help support The Barnes Special on their special day.

TREE OF LIFE PROGRAM, 3 p.m. at St. Michael Baptist Church. Everyone is welcome to come and fellowship with us.

OCTOBER 7 

CHURCH ETIQUETTE CLASS, 7 p.m. hosted by The Bluestone-Harmony Association, Keysville. This class is a substitute for our regular Evans-Smith Institute which will be continued in January 2020. All Christians are welcome to enroll. There will be five two-hour class; each running on Monday night between the hours of 7-9 p.m. Registration will be at 6:30 p.m. Questions may be directed to Dr. Herman Lundy at (434) 774-7511 or (434) 955- 7036.

OCTOBER 12 

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE FUNDRAISER, 7-10 p.m. at the Chase City Banquet Center, 514 N. Main St., Chase City. The Band-NuEpiphany will be on hand to provide the music. A casino, silent auction, light hor d’oeuvres, free signature drink, and a cash bar will be included in the night’s festivities. OCTOBER 13 

110TH HOMECOMING ANNIVERSARY, 11 a.m. at New Hope United Methodist Church, 6101 Scuffletown Road, Randolph. Members, friends, family, visitors and neighbors are welcome. The Rev. Philip Hong, pastor, will lead our service with special music by the New Hope Choir and Misook Hong. A covered dish luncheon will follow. For more information, contact the Rev. HOMECOMING, 11 a.m. at Mt. Carmel U.M.C., 1104 Mt. Carmel Road, Brookneal with special music by Sandy Creek Gospel Bluegrass and Sheila Schaefer. Preacher Mike Teixeira will bring the message. A covered dish lunch will follow worship. All are welcome.

OCTOBER 17 

FALL FORESTRY AND WILDLIFE TOUR, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. at 400 George Washington Hwy., Charlotte Court House. This event is sponsored by Virginia Cooperative Extension.
