The small creek behind the Drakes Branch Municipal Building was over its banks the morning of Friday, Feb 7, following heavy rainfall and high winds overnight.
According to VDOT Communications Manager Paula Jones, there were 15 roads that were closed in the county due to flooding and downed trees.
On Monday, Feb. 10, VDOT was reporting that Route 649 in Charlotte County was still closed due to flooding.
On Friday, Feb. 7, around noon, Southside Electric Cooperative was reporting 176 customers without power in Charlotte County while Mecklenburg Electric Cooperative was reporting 15 members without electricity in their service area.
