A Virtual Design Public Hearing for the Route 15, Farmville Highway project in Charlotte County will be held on Thursday, Nov. 12. An online presentation will begin at 4 p.m.
The purpose of the approximately $5.27 million project is to construct a roundabout at Route 15 and Old Route 360 to improve safety. The design concept includes removing the northbound and southbound legs of Old US 360 and aligning two 12-foot lanes along the current median.
During construction, flaggers will assist motorists and maintain traffic. No detours are anticipated and access to adjacent properties will be maintained at all times.
Route 15 had an average daily traffic (ADT) volume of 4,586 vehicles in 2018 and will have an estimated ADT of 5,779 vehicles in the project’s design year.
Participants may submit questions through the chat feature during the presentation and VDOT staff will attempt to provide answers immediately or will follow up should additional information be needed. Comments may be submitted through November 22 by completing the online survey or printable comment sheet. The printed survey and/or other comments may be submitted by email to Anthony.Revelle@VDOT.Virginia.Gov or by mail to Anthony Revelle, Virginia Department of Transportation, 4219 Campbell Avenue, Lynchburg, VA 24501.
