Pedestrian killed in Keysville

A 28-year-old South Boston man, Tevin R. Smith, died at the scene after being struck by a vehicle on Kings Highway in Keysville Saturday Dec. 12 at 9:44 p.m.
According to Virginia State Police (VSP), Smith was attempting to cross Kings Highway near American Dream Lane when he was struck by a 2005 Chevrolet Suburban driven by a 73-year-old Powhatan County man who was traveling east.
According to a release from VSP the vehicle was unable to avoid striking the pedestrian.
The driver was uninjured in the crash.
The accident remains under investigation.
