Selmer Mackseane “Maxine” Lewis, age 82 of Drakes Branch, passed away on Feb. 4, in Brooklyn, New York. She was the daughter of the late Mr. Willie Lewis and Mrs. Helen Reed Lewis.

She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Helen ”Shantel” Simon (Kyle); grandchildren, Michael and Leah all of Brooklyn, New York; nieces, Barbara White of Long Branch, New Jersey and Paula James of Richmond; nephews, Stanley Freeman of Long Island, New York and Jerron Lewis of Drakes Branch; her dearest friend of over fifty years, Maureen Hyatte of Brooklyn, New York and from this relationship, two godchildren, Melvin Jr. and Patricia and a host of cousins, relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, Feb. 4 at 1 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home Chapel in Charlotte Court House with interment at Lewis Family Cemetery in Drakes Branch.
