The Charlotte Gazette was honored Thursday with the award for the top advertising team in Division 1 of non-daily newspapers during a virtual presentation of the Virginia Press Association annual press awards.

Advertising Director Jackie Newman and Marketing Consultant Debbie Evans received first-place awards in the categories of automotive, professional services and small group ads. Second place awards were garnered in professional services and real estate. Third place honors were won in the categories of home and garden.

In all, the Gazette advertising team won six awards in the contest.

“It’s an honor to be recognized by our peers as the best in our class,” Charlotte Gazette Publisher Betty Ramsey said. “Jackie Newman and Debbie Evans always put our customers first and it shows. Our customers are in good hands with Jackie and Debbie.”
