U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) food boxes, along with food purchased with donations from Mt. Zion Baptist and Providence Baptist churches, will be distributed on Saturday, Sept. 17. That will take place at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Red House from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
Anyone in the Phenix and surrounding Red House community who needs food is welcome to come and get help. Those who come are asked to bring a large cardboard box and identification. Also, you must stay in your vehicle and the box will be put in your trunk. Anyone with questions is asked to call Bernice Pannell at (434)-248- 6465 after 5 p.m. and before 8 p.m.
As a reminder, you can only receive USDA food at one site each month in Virginia. COVID-19 safety guidelines will be followed and directions will be given as you enter the parking lot.
