Bacon District Elementary held their Scripps National Spelling Bee on Friday, Dec. 2. Students from first through fifth grades participate in classroom spelling bees to earn a spot as a competitor in the school-level bee. Destini Russell spelled landline correctly to become the winner. She and the runner-up, Carson McCall, will represent Bacon District in the county spelling bee at Central Middle School on Jan. 11, 2023.
