Former Randolph-Henry (R-H) student Amber Robillard returned to Nurse Elder’s class on Monday, March 20 as a guest speaker. After taking Nurse Elder’s courses in high school, Amber followed through on her goals in the medical field by becoming a labor and delivery nurse. Here she can be seen demonstrating to students how to apply a wireless monitor to a patient to keep up with the mother’s contractions and the baby’s heart rate. She also showed students internal monitoring tools, the peanut ball, and various heart rhythm strips that can occur during the birthing process. She talked with students about careers in nursing and shared some of her experiences with them.
