On Saturday, July 15, the students of Charlotte County Public Schools were treated to a unique and incredible opportunity at the Randolph-Henry High School (R-H) football stadium.
On this day, students of all ages were invited to attend a free NFL Players Association Football Camp hosted by our very own Joe Reed, who is now a member of the Chicago Bears professional football team.
This camp provided a high level of instruction and expertise from a group of Joe’s former teammates and friends from the University of Virginia, several members of the Hampden-Sydney staff, as well the R-H coaching staff.
Camp staff included professional players such as Bryce Perkins (formerly of the Los Angeles Rams), Olimade Zaccheaus (Philadelphia Eagles), and Chris Moore (formerly of the Baltimore Ravens). The camp was well attended and incredibly well organized by Reed and his staff. These gentlemen brought inspiration, high energy, fun and engagement for all students in attendance.
“We are so pleased that Joe Reed along with the support of the NFLPA chose to return to R-H to execute such an incredible, high-intensity, first-class football camp for our students,” said R-H Principal Erin Davis. “We are all so proud of Joe and his accomplishments. From his days at R-H to the University of Virginia and now the National Football League, Joe continues to remember his first home and we are so thrilled to continue to cheer him on as he pursues his passion of continuing to play football at the highest level.”
