AUGUST 1-18
YOUTH SOCCER REGISTRATION – Anyone who wants to play in the Charlotte County Youth Soccer League this fall has until August 18 to register. Games will be played from Aug. 26 through October 29. If your child’s birth year is 2018-2019, then the cost is $40. If your child was born anytime from 2005 to 2017, the cost is $60. Practices begin Aug. 1 on the Keysville Fields. BEEKEEPERS MEETING – The Heart of Virginia Beekeepers will meet Tuesday, Aug. 1 at 7 pm at the Prince Edward County Extension Office, located at 100 Dominion Dr. in Farmville, near Lowe’s. Casey Fletcher will speak about managing bees in a dearth or scarcity of resources. Anyone who has bees or is interested in bees is welcome. HOMECOMING – Organ Hill Baptist Church, located at 250 Proctor St. in Drakes Branch, will hold homecoming services on Sunday, Aug. 6, beginning at 10 a.m. A cookout style lunch will be served after worship.
AUGUST 9-11
REVIVAL – St. Level Baptist Church, located at 3 Highway 15 in Clarksville, will hold revival services Wednesday Aug. 9, Thursday, Aug. 10 and Friday, Aug. 11 at 7:30 p.m. each night. Rev. Michael Jackson, pastor of St. Matthew Baptist Church in Clarksville will deliver the message Wednesday. He’ll be followed Thursday by Rev. Brenda Hutchinson, pastor of St. Paul Baptist Church in Boydton. Finally on Friday, Rev. James Moore, pastor of Lombardy Grove Church in South Hill will preach. The ministers will be accompanied each night by their respective choirs.
AUGUST 10-11
REVIVAL – New Rehoboth Baptist Church will hold revival services Thursday, Aug. 10 and Friday, Aug. 11 at 7 p.m. each night. Rev. James Lindsey will be the guest preacher.
AUGUST 12
CHURCH PICNIC – St. Level Baptist Church, located at 3 Highway 15 in Clarksville, will hold a church picnic on Saturday, Aug. 12, starting at 5 p.m.
AUGUST 13
HOMECOMING – St. Level Baptist Church, located at 3 Highway 15 in Clarksville, will hold homecoming services on Sunday, Aug. 13, beginning at 11 a.m. The Rev. Toney W. Smith, pastor of St. Level, will deliver the message.
HOMECOMING – St. Michael Baptist Church will hold homecoming services on Sunday, Aug. 13, beginning at 11 a.m. Lunch will be served after the service.
HOMECOMING – New Rehoboth Baptist Church will hold homecoming services on Sunday, Aug. 13 during the regular morning worship.
SEPTEMBER 16
WALK FOR LIFE – The Pregnancy Support Center of Southside Virginia will host a Walk for Life fundraiser on Saturday, Sept. 16, beginning at 8:30 a.m. It’ll start at Osborne Park, located at 426 Osborne Street in Keysville.

WOMEN’S MINISTRY WORSHIP — A worship service with Confident Women Ministry is held every Sunday at 3 p.m. online via conference call. Services are led by Rev. Loretta Bailey and anyone is invited to call 1-657-390-7012 to take part.
ST. MICHAEL BAPTIST CHURCH — St. Michael Baptist Church in Drakes Branch holds worship services at 11 a.m. the second and fourth Sundays of each month Masks are required. The Rev. James E. Goode is the pastor.
SHILOH BAPTIST CHURCH — Shiloh Baptist Church, located at 125 Shiloh Church Road in Drakes Branch holds services every Sunday at 10 a.m. Rev. Dr. Horace B. Parham Jr. is the pastor. All are welcome.
AMATEUR RADIO MEETING — The Charlotte County Amateur Radio Club meets the first Sunday of the month at 1426 Estes Road in Chase City. The meeting begins at 3 p.m. Everyone is welcome. For more information, contact Jason at (434) 944-9100.
ST. ANDREWS BAPTIST CHURCH — St. Andrews Baptist Church in Cullen holds worship services at 11 a.m. the first and third Sundays. Sunday school begins at 9:45 a.m. the first, second, third and fourth Sundays. The Rev. Dr. Maurice Finney is the pastor.
BEAUTIFUL PLAIN BAPTIST — Beautiful Plain Baptist Church holds services at 11 a.m. the second and fourth Sundays at Beautiful Plain Baptist Church, Charlotte Court House until further notice.
HEBRON UNITED METHODIST — Hebron United Methodist Church in Saxe holds in-person services at 9:45 a.m. until further notice. Masks are required to attend.
PHENIX UNITED METHODIST CHURCH — Phenix United Methodist Church, 225 Church St., in Phenix worship service is at 9 a.m. each Sunday morning. There will be no Sunday school.
MT. CARMEL UNITED METHODIST CHURCH — Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church, 1101 Mt. Carmel Road, in Brookneal worship service is at 11 a.m. each Sunday morning. There will be no Sunday school.
