Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Hampden-Sydney College seventh-year head coach Tommy DiNuzzo has announced the appointment of Yugo Suzuki as the program’s new Assistant Coach. Suzuki has last served as a Student Assistant at Virginia Commonwealth University since January.

“Yugo will be a great addition to our staff and will connect right away with our current players since he recently finished his playing career at VCU,” said DiNuzzo. “We could not be happier to have him at H-SC and believe he is an up-and-coming young coach who is going to add a lot to our team right away.”

At VCU, Yugo worked with staff to organize, plan, and prepare practice sessions and assisted with film after games and practice. He also played a hand in getting the equipment ready for practices and games.

While at VCU, Suzuki also was a coach at Own Touch in Richmond, a position he still currently holds. He helps prepare and manage summer camps, as well as middle and high school sessions. In addition, Yugo is responsible for training and shadowing new staff.

Yugo is a 2023 graduate of VCU, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Supply Chain Management & Analytics. While at VCU he was a four-year member of the soccer team, playing eight career games for the Rams, making two starts.
