The students at Eureka Elementary have been celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month in their music class. They performed some of the songs they learned at an evening performance. Second, third and fifth graders sang several songs highlighting the language, culture, and musical styles of music from Latin America. The fifth-graders can now sing the days of the week in Spanish and had fun learning “La Bamba.” Additionally, students sang songs about food, like “Green Eggs and Ham” and “On Top of Spaghetti,” played some instruments, and got to create extra percussion sounds with kickballs while enjoying chips and salsa.
