On Thursday, Oct. 12, Phenix Elementary hosted retired teachers and friends for National Book Month. Billy Catron, Liz Peaden, Alfreda Davis, Cindy Carwile and Peggy Redmond, retired teachers from various schools in Charlotte County, came and shared books with various grades. Along with the former educators, Emily Hamlett, Joanne Catron and Jim Watkins, also took time from their busy schedules to share literature with the Phenix children. Billy and Joanne Catron even dressed in costume to read while Cindy Carwile shared stories and crafts about fire safety with her group. All the students enjoyed the experience, staff members said
