Several Charlotte County teachers received recognition for their work this month in a variety of ways. Lisa Johnson, a teacher at Randolph-Henry High, was honored this week with W!se’s 2022-23 Gold Star Teacher Award. 

Johnson’s accomplishment stems from achieving a 93% pass rate on the W!se Financial Literacy Certification in at least one of her classes during the 2022-23 season. 

“This achievement is a testament to her dedication and effectiveness as an educator, and we take great pride in acknowledging Mrs. Johnson’s outstanding contribution,” Randolph-Henry High Principal Erin Davis said. 

Also handed out was the Marigold of the Month award. This goes to the person or persons who “exude positivity and encouragement in the face of adversity,” according to Principal Davis. 

Serving as the school’s lab manager and online mentor, Ann Mason is a true tech wizard, Davis said, tirelessly troubleshooting issues for students and staff across the campus. 

“Her responsiveness and helpful nature shine through as she navigates the school, offering solutions and support to anyone in need,” Davis added. “Mrs. Mason goes above and beyond, assuming roles such as overseeing our TEALS program and assisting with attendance when needed.” 

Not only does she create an inviting learning space, but Mrs. Mason also brings joy to spirit days with her vibrant attire, Davis said, adding her eagerness to jump in and help wherever she can makes her an invaluable asset to the school community.
