On Wednesday, Dec. 13, Phenix Elementary School held its annual Spelling Bee for students. After the homerooms held their class spelling bees, the winners participated in the school’s competition. Representing the first grade were Elliot Robinson and Brylee Bryant. Second grade spellers were Noah Scruggs and Brantley Stephenson. Third grade contestants were Ethan Hall and Max Clark. Lily Pillow and Kamri Robinson represented the fourth grade. Will Jackson and Avery Overstreet represented their fifth grade class. The winners were Lily Pillow and Will Jackson who will advance to the County Spelling Bee in January at Central Middle School. Principal, Danny Richardson, was the pronouncer. Guest judges were Duffie Jones, Karen Thompson and Jamie Brown Jackson.
