On Monday, June 20, 2016, Ethel Drew Cousins Vaughters quietly took flight from her earthly home to rest safely in the arms of Jesus. She was born December 15, 1924 in Charlotte County, Virginia, to the late Elijah and Fannie Davis Drew.

Affectionately called, “Ms. Ethel,” she demonstrated a big heart, overflowing with love and compassion for her family and friends. Ethel was preceded in life by her loving devoted husband, Robert Wyllie Vaughters; daughter, Carol Jean Hale; and sisters Cordelia Wright and Beatrice Conley.

She leaves to cherish fond memories of a life well-lived, William Cousins, Jr. (Carolyn) of Lafayette, Colorado, Samuel Cousins (Sandra) of MIdlothian, Virginia and Kenneth Cousins of Richmond, California; seven grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; two sisters, Lavern Hill of Williamsburg, Virginia and Daisy Ruff of Monclair, New Jersey; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Celebration of Life Services were held noon June 24, 2016 at Gethsemane Presbyterian Church in Drakes Branch with interment in the Henry Cemetery in Randolph, VA.
