William Lewis Boettcher Sr.William Lewis Boettcher Sr., 90 of Drakes Branch, passed away peacefully at his home on Dec. 23, surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer.

Lewis, born June 3, 1934, was the son of the late Wayne G. and Virginia V. Boettcher. He was predeceased by a brother, Wayne Boettcher of Chesapeake.

Lewis is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Louise P. Boettcher; his daughter, Terry Hall (Lee) of Drakes Branch; his son, Billy Boettcher (Jane) of Keysville; his grandson, Brycen Boettcher of Richmond; two sisters, Linda Langford (Joe) of Charlotte C.H. and Pat Anderson of Nathalie; one brother, John Boettcher of Farmville and one sister-in-law, Bobbi Boettcher of Chesapeake. In addition to numerous nieces and nephews.

Lewis was a man of few words but the way he lived his life spoke for him. He remained active until the last month of his life.

Lewis was a lifetime member of Timberwolf Hunt Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing with his grandson, farming and yard work.

Graveside services were held at 2 p.m., Friday, Dec. 27, at Evergreen Cemetery, Charlotte C.H. The family received friends at the home of Lee and Terry Hall at 8909 Craftons Gate Highway, Drakes Branch. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Drakes Branch Fire Department or the Charlotte County Rescue Squad. 

The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville is in charge of arrangements.
