Rev. Gerald M. Currin Sr.Rev. Gerald M. Currin Sr., 78 of Keysville, passed away on March 1. He was born on Oct. 30, 1946. Gerald was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Patricia Phelps Currin; his two brothers, Ronald “Ronnie” Glenn Currin and Dr. Earl Carlyle Currin Jr.; and their parents, Earl Carlyle Currin Sr. and Lucille Eudailey Currin.

Gerald was a tobacco farmer, worked for Kenbridge Construction for many years and was also a Pastor. He preached at Union Grove Baptist Church for 13 years and Meherrin Baptist Church for the last 15 years.

Gerald is survived by his three children, Natalie Farmer (Dean), Gerald M. Currin Jr. (Tanya) and Jackie Bowles (Tommy) and seven grandchildren, Nathan, Nicholas, Noah, and Nakayla Farmer, Chesney and Chayten Currin, and Cole Murphy.

Gerald enjoyed spending time with his family, going to the beach, rabbit and turkey hunting and gardening. He was a devoted Christian that also loved his church family.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., March 8, at Meherrin Baptist Church, 1810 Bruceville Road, Meherrin, VA 23954. If you would like to make donations in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Meherrin Baptist Church. 

The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville is in charge of arrangements.
