Two Sweet Babes, One New Business: Bakery open in Keysville

It’s a business built out of a kitchen, with a name tied to the owner’s children and filled with creativity. Welcome to Two Sweet Babes, an artisan bakery that has quickly become a favorite for residents craving warm, handcrafted desserts with a personal touch.
“Two Sweet Babes officially started in June 2024, when I was 24 weeks pregnant with our second child,” said owner Julie Vicks. “My sweet and supportive husband encouraged me to finally turn my longtime passion into something more. I’ve actually been baking since 2019, just as a hobby at first—making treats for friends and family. Over the years, it grew into something I really loved doing, and with the right push and perfect timing, the home bakery was born.”
The bakery is family-run at its core. As the name suggests, mom—the primary baker—is joyfully assisted by her “two sweet babes.”

“The name Two Sweet Babes is inspired by the two biggest blessings in my life—my two babies,” Vicks explained. “One sweet little girl and one beautiful baby boy. Everything I do is for them, and I wanted the bakery’s name to reflect that love and purpose.”
Though small in size, this family team is big on charm and passion. Every cake, cupcake, cookie, and brownie carries the love and care only a mom and her children could infuse.
“It’s mostly me behind the scenes, but I definitely don’t do it alone. My husband helps me so much (and is the reason this dream got started!), and my mama pitches in sometimes too,” Vicks said. “I also can’t forget my taste testers, two (very eager to eat sweets) kiddos! It’s very much a family effort, and I’m so grateful for that support.”
Stretching to Keysville and beyond
Every order is crafted from scratch using quality ingredients, ensuring freshness and customization.
In a world where mass production dominates, this home-based bakery offers something nostalgic and comforting—desserts that taste like home. Their connection to the community, combined with responsiveness and flexibility in custom orders, makes them stand out.
“Custom cakes are definitely what I’m known for! I love bringing someone’s vision to life—whether it’s a birthday, baby shower, or any special celebration,” Vicks said. “Each one is handmade with care and designed to fit the moment perfectly.”
There are a couple rules that the bakery is run by. Hands are washed like it’s a religion, especially before touching any ingredients or packaging. Tools, pans and surfaces are cleaned and sanitized before and after every bake. Ingredients are stored away from any potential contaminants and everything is packaged with care. Now if you have a food allergy of any kind, Vicks asks that you let her know beforehand.
Two Sweet Babes offers pickup in Keysville and delivery within a 60-mile radius. The business has a Facebook page, which you can link to by clicking here. You can also order through her email, at Juliannspigler@gmail.com.
“It’s whatever works best for the customer,” Vicks said. “I try to make it as easy and friendly as possible!”
