Two men have been charged with rape following the report of what the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office is terming a “possible rape” reported in Drakes Branch.

Police say Cameron Wayne Mayton, 29, of Blackstone, and Robert Cole Davis, 28, of Dinwiddie, are charged in connection with the alleged incident, which remains under investigation, reported on March 15.

The alleged victim, police say, is a 28-year-old white female.

“Both suspects are being held in the Charlotte County Jail without bond,” police said in a press release.

Mayton is charged with rape and attempted sodomy, police said in a press release. Davis is charged with strangulation, rape and sodomy.
