HOMECOMING, 11 a.m. at Salem Baptist Church in Red Oak. Pastor Roger Lee Allen will bring the word.

HOMECOMING, 11 a.m. at Bethel Baptist Church in Phenix. Sunday School will meet at 10 a.m. Myron Boone will be the speaker. A covered dish lunch will be served after the service.

HOMECOMING, 11 a.m. at St. Louis Baptist Church in Charlotte Court House. The Rev. Henry L. Fleshman Jr. will deliver the message.

MEN’S DAY, 3 p.m. at Shiloh Baptist Church. The event will feature special guests, including The Singing Deacons, St. Level Baptist Church, Concord Baptist Church Deacon Michael Haskins, Captain Royal Freeman and more. Everyone in invited. Refreshments will be served.

HOMECOMING, 11 a.m. at Galilee Baptist Church. Pastor James Lindsey will deliver the message along with his choir, Galilee Shining Stars. Dinner will be served.

HOMECOMING/ANNIVERSARY, 11 a.m. at Triumph Church. The Rev. James W. Morris will preach and the church’s choir will sing. Dinner will be served immediately following the worship service in the fellowship hall.

USHER’S ANNUAL SERVICE, 3 p.m. at Mossingford Baptist Church. Pastor John Craighead will deliver the word. All are invited.

REVIVAL, 7 p.m. nightly at Salem Baptist Church in Red Oak. Associate Ministers Carolyn Pearson, Angela Cook and Loretta Bailey will bring the word.

REVIVAL, 7 p.m. nightly at St. Louis Baptist Church in Charlotte Court House. There will be different choirs each night. Everyone is welcome.

REVIVAL, 7 p.m. nightly at Triumph Church. The guest preacher will be the Rev. Darryl Brown, pastor of the Calvary Baptist Church in Prospect. A guest choir will sing nightly.

September 9

WOMEN’S ANNUAL TEA, 2-4 p.m. at Morrison Grove Baptist Church. All women are invited. Bring your favorite tea cup. This event is sponsored by the women’s empowerment bible study.

September 15

POW-MIA DAY, 11 a.m. at the Charlotte County Administration Building lawn. This event is hosted by the Charlotte County VFW Post 8902. Guest speaker will be Greg Eanes.

September 30

BENEFIT RIDE, 9:30 a.m. at the Drakes Branch Pavilion. Southside Buffalo Soldiers will sponsor this ride for fallen Buffalo Soldier George Roberts. Cost is $15 per rider and $5 per passenger. Proceeds will assist with son Jacoby Roberts. For more information, call (804) 665-8860.

OPPORTUNITY FUND SKEET CLASSIC, 8 a.m. at the Holiday Lake 4-H Educational Center in Appomattox for graduating high school seniors in Southside Electric Cooperative’s (SEC) service area. In just two years, 30 $1,000 scholarships have been given to students headed to college or a trade/technical school whose parents or guardians are served by SEC. The individual registration fee for the skeet shoot is $75, while squads of five can sign up for $325. All participants must provide their own guns and ammunition, and skeet shooters of all levels are welcome. The event is limited to the first 50 participants, who must register in advance. The deadline to sign up is Saturday. Sponsorship and donation opportunities are available for businesses and individuals who’d like to support this event.
