CHARLOTTE — No charges will be placed in connection to an Oct. 8 fatal accident in Charlotte County that resulted in the death of one pedestrian, who was a 38-year-old Drakes Branch man.

According to Virginia State Police Public Relations Director Corinne Geller, the crash occurred at 9:58 p.m. on U.S. Route 360.

“A 2010 Toyota Camry was traveling east on Route 360 when a pedestrian intentionally ran out in front of the vehicle,” Geller said. “The Toyota was not able to avoid the pedestrian and struck the male subject.”

She said the pedestrian died at the scene. The driver of the Toyota — a 27-year-old male from Apex, North Carolina — was not injured in the crash.
