FALL FESTIVAL, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. in Drakes Branch. Visit the Charlotte County Farmer’s Market at Drakes Branch.

FALL FESTIVAL, 2:30-5:30 p.m. at Providence Baptist Church in Red House. Everyone is welcome. The event will include bouncy houses, games, balloon animals, stew, cotton candy, popcorn and more.

TRICK OR TREAT OPEN HOUSE, 6-7:30 p.m. at Charlotte Primary Care in Charlotte Court House. Treats will be given to kids 0-12. 

STEW, 11 a.m. at Jerry and Brenda Bowers’ shop. Cost is $7 per quart of $25 per gallon. Chicken, beef and a mix will be available. All proceeds will benefit expenses associated with the 2018 Honduras mission trip. Pre-orders are welcome. MEN’S DAY WEEKEND, 11 a.m. sponsored by Salem Baptist Church in Red Oak. On Saturday, the Men’s fellowship will be held at Staunton View Park. The Rev. Chester Terry of New St. Douglas and Whittle Grove churches will be the guest speaker. All men are invited. On Sunday, the Salem’s Annual Men’s Day will be celebrated with the Rev. Roger Lee Allen and the Salem Male Chorus. Everyone is invited.

HEARTLAND BAND, 7 p.m. at Rough Creek Presbyterian Church. Light refreshments will be served following the concert. All are welcome to attend. The church is located three miles north of Phenix on Route 727.

SINGING STARS ANNIVERSARY, 3 p.m. at Central Middle School. The Singing Stars Gospel Singers from Saxe will be celebrating their 27th anniversary. Participating groups include the Golden Stars of Gretna, Freeman family of Gretna, Patrick family of Gretna, Blessed Few of Charlotte Court House, Lamations Gospel Singers of Farmville, Gospel Jublee and others. Everyone is welcome to come. There will be a $5 donation at the door. Prizes will be given away.

Candlelight Vigil, 7 p.m. at the Charlotte County Courthouse Lawn.  Tri-County Community Action Agency, Inc. will host a candlelight vigil to bring awareness to domestic violence in the community. The vigil is also for victims of domestic violence and those lost to domestic violence.

TRUNK OR TREAT, 5-7 p.m. at Ash Camp Baptist Church in the parking lot. Adults, youth and children will hand out treats. Look for the best decorated vehicle and costumes while enjoying treats, a hayride, bonfire and s’mores.

ANNUAL CHRISTMAS BAZAAR, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. on Friday and 9 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday at St. Theresa Parish Center in Farmville. Admission is free and will include a local author book signing, door prizes, baked goods, crafts, stained glass and more.

November 4

USED BOOK SALE, 9 a.m.-noon in the small brick building behind the Charlotte Court House Library. This event is hosted by the Charlotte County Library will host a used book sale. Very low prices on books and DVDs. All proceeds benefit the four libraries of Charlotte County.

BENEFIT STEW, 10 a.m. at Central High Museum grounds. Stew master will be Melvin Woodson. Price is $7 per quart. Hot dogs, hamburgers, cakes and pies will also be available for sale. ARTISTS AMONG US, The Friends of the Charlotte County Library invite the public to visit the Keysville Branch Library from Oct. 19 until Nov. 22 to view the art show, which features the works of more than a dozen talented professional artists with close ties to Charlotte County. There are many works of art on exhibit, and they may be viewed from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays as well as from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturdays.
