The Lunenburg County Historical Society made its annual fall trip on Oct. 31, this year visiting neighboring Charlotte County. The morning was spent at Patrick Henry’s Red Hill, where the group enjoyed the orientation film, museum and a tour of the buildings and grounds under the guidance of excellent docents Betsy Hanmer and Winnie Morris. Lunch was at historic Diamond Hill in the village of Charlotte Court House ,where Vellie Dietrich-Hall operates a bed and breakfast/boutique. After visiting the two museums at Charlotte Court House, their last stop of the day was at the historic Richardson home, on Maple Road, which is decorated by Mr. and Mrs. Max Sempowski.
