Margaret Etta Haskins Scott

Margaret Etta Haskins Scott, 91, passed away on Nov. 7, in Christiansburg. She was the daughter of the late Murtain Haskins and Beulah May Canada Haskins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Howard Scott; siblings, Cathleen J. Tweedy (James), Chestina Nance (Rev. Andrew Nance), Vivian Banks (Pernell), Eugene Haskins, Norman L. Haskins (Lucille), William Haskins and Murtain Haskins Jr. (Essie).

She is survived by her husband, William E. Scott Sr. of Lynchburg; four sons, Filmore Scott (Alma) of Appomattox, William E. Scott Jr. of Lynchburg, Alonzo Scott of Norfolk and James O. Scott Sr. of Pamplin; one daughter, Catherine Tune of Lynchburg; 13 grandchildren, John Powell, Michelle Scott Cunningham, Tremayne Powell, Kia Scott, Tiffany Scott, Twanna Scott Hancock, Henry Alvin Dennis, Jamie Scott, Catrina Dennis, Dominque Scott, James Scott Jr., Dalisha Tune Wright and Tysha Scott; 29 great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, Nov. 13, 1:30 p.m., at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Red House at 1:30 p.m. with interment in the church cemetery. Condolences may be expressed at www.JeffressFuneralHome.com.
