Kaylene Havey

Kaylene Havey, 84, went peacefully home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, Dec. 10. Kaylene was born on Jan. 28, 1937 in Cleveland, Ohio, the daughter of the late Bessie Miller and Anthony Miller.

She is survived by her husband, Vernon Harvey; her son, Steve Whytsell; daughter, Sharon Martinache and sister, Lindia Miller. She is also survived by her stepsons, Dennis, Wayne and Norman Harvey. She also had 11 grandchildren, Vernon, Chris, Sean, Jamie Joseph, Matt, Patrick, Jacob, Jackie, Andy and Rigel. She had 13 great grandchildren, Skylar, Brayson, Hanna, Marie, Emily, James, Nicolas, Braden, Sophia, Chance, Patrick, Jesse and Lill Matt.

Kaylene was a member of Mt Tirzah Baptist church, where she served as treasurer for many years. Kaylene liked to work in her garden and enjoyed quilting and doing puzzles.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Donald and her son, Douglas.

The family received friends Monday, Dec. 13, from 6 – 8 p.m., at Puckett Funeral Home in Farmville. Funeral was held at Mt Tirzah Baptist in Charlotte Court House on Tuesday, Dec. 14, at 11 a.m., graveside to followed.

Kaylene asks that in lieu of flower donations should go to the Charlotte County Fire Department and Rescue squad.
