Derek DeSantis Weaver

Derek DeSantis Weaver, age 27 of Red Oak passed away on Saturday, Feb. 6. He was born on Oct. 15, 1993 in South Hill.

Derek was a 2012 graduate of Randolph Henry High School and then received his CDL from Southside Virginia Community College. One of his favorite past-times was going to his parent’s cottage on the Yeopim River in Snug Harbor, North Carolina. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, fishing, hunting and working out at the YMCA.

He was preceded in death by his uncle, Guy DeSantis.

Derek is survived by his father and mother, Gene and Roberta Weaver; god-mother, Ann Irvine Hall; god-brother, Ryan Bolton; two aunts, Deborah “Tiny” DeSantis and Jeannie Hollie (Russell); cousins, Gary DeSantis, Anthony DeSantis, Daniel DeSantis, Jenna DeSantis, Lindsay Hollie and Audra Hollie and numerous friends.

A viewing was held on Wednesday, Feb. 10 from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. at Newcomb Allgood Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, Feb. 11 at 2 p.m. at the Mills Family Cemetery in Red Oak.

Derek loved his family and friends and he will be dearly missed.
