Earley L. Cook Jr.

Earley L. Cook, Jr., age 78 of Charlotte Court House, transitioned quietly on Jan. 20, at the Chase City Health and Rehabilitation Center, Chase City. Earley was the son of the late Earley L. Cook, Sr. and Willia B. Cook. He was preceded in death by his devoted wife of fifty-three years, Mary J. Cook.

He is survived by his seven children, Maretta Jeffress (Juan) of Drakes Branch, Sandra Love (Kendall) of Cullen, Roger L. Allen (Octavia) of Raleigh, North Carolina, Angela Cook of Charlotte Court House, Earley Victor Cook (Brenda), Christopher Cook of Durham, North Carolina and James Cook (Cora) of Farmville; two sisters, Gracie Stovall of Drakes Branch and Irene Easley of Baltimore, Maryland; one brother, John Cook (Charbeth) of Cleveland, Ohio; one god-daughter Phinon Hurt of Chase City; a special devoted friend, Janie Walton of Keysville; twenty-one grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A graveside service was held on Sunday, Jan. 24 at 2 p.m. at Union Cemetery in Charlotte Court House. Condolences may be expressed at www.JeffressFuneralHome.com. Arrangements were by Jeffress Funeral Home of Charlotte Court House.
