Fire and EMS crews responded to an overturned tractor trailer carrying a load of roofing shingles on Monday, Nov. 16 around 4:30 a.m. in the 1400 block of Scuffletown Road. According to Phenix Volunteer Fire Department Chief Walt Bailey the driver said he fell asleep at the wheel. Scuffletown Road was blocked for close to two hours. Bee Line Towing and Recovery of Lynchburg the Phenix VFD and the Charlotte County Rescue Squad responded to the accident. The driver was treated for minor injuries.
