When voters in the Drakes Branch District head to the polls this November, they will be casting their votes in a new location.
Due to the relocation of the Drakes Branch Municipal building, where voters have cast ballots for years, the new location will now be across the street from the former building in the new Drakes Branch Fire House and Municipal building.
Town offices were recently relocated to the new building, which has been under construction for years following damages the building and area received during a tropical storm in the fall of 2018.
As part of the relocation intent, which must be done 60 days before the elections, the Charlotte County Board of Supervisors (BOS) will conduct a public hearing in the boardroom of the County Administration Office at 250 LeGrande Avenue.
The BOS will receive public comments regarding the intent to pass a resolution to permanently relocate the Drakes Branch polling place from its current location at 4800 Drakes Main Street, Drakes Branch, to the new Drakes Branch Volunteer Fire Department and Town Office, at 4801 Drakes Main Street, Drakes Branch.
