The Randolph-Henry golf team remained perfect through another round of district competition over the last week. At this point in the season, they’re 10-1 overall, 6-0 in district competition. As for how they got there, it involved wins against most of the Statesmen’s rivals.
On Aug. 16, Randolph-Henry took on Buckingham and Prince Edward counties, winning with a 20 point difference between first and second place.
Randolph-Henry won with 164 points, as Buckingham scored 186 and Prince Edward 185. Sophomore Liam Hottle led all scorers with a team-high 39. He was followed by Parker Allen’s 41, then Bryson Francisco and Danner Allen, who both tied at 42. Mason came in at 46 and Caden Powell had 48.
The course in Victoria proved to be just as challenging for some of the teams. On Aug. 17, the group took on Lunenburg Central and Amelia, picking up another win. And this time, it wasn’t even close. Randolph-Henry finished with an overall score of 156, while Lunenburg collected 190 and Amelia finished at the back with 204. This time around, it was Parker Allen with the lowest score of the day, coming in at 38.
