On Tuesday, Dec. 13, the Randolph-Henry High School Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) hosted an etiquette dinner in the culinary arts classroom. CTE teacher Rhonda Benn directed a lesson on dinner etiquette, table manners, place settings, small talk and other essential tips for students who may attend formal dinners in the future. Chef Engelhorn and his culinary arts students prepared and served a three-course meal, including homemade rolls, a salad, grilled chicken with lemon caper butter sauce and rice and apple pie for dessert. The meal was organized by FBLA Sponsors Sherri Pillow, Sheena Allen and Lisa Johnson. Both students and staff felt that the event was very successful. Learning the rules for dinner etiquette is a beautiful skill that many students will need later in life, whether they are guests at a business function or a wedding.
