Gloria Pendleton Compton

Gloria Pendleton Compton, 71 of Crewe, went to be with the Lord on Sept. 27. She was the daughter of the late David McKinney Pendleton and Jessie White Pendleton; sister of the late, Paulette Pendleton and grandmother of the late Payton Grace Ziglar.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Charles Judson “Jud” Compton; her daughters, Penny C. Ziglar (Greg) and Cheryl C. Berumen; 6 grandchildren, Mikayla, Jordan, Emily, Kierstin, April and Judson; her sister, Louise P. Lewis (Wayne); numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

Gloria was a good Christian woman. She loved to read her bible and sing for the Lord. She especially loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren.

She was a devoted member of the Crewe Church of the Nazarene, where the family will receive friends Friday, Oct. 1, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. and where memorial services will be held Saturday, Oct. 2, at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial donations to the Crewe Church of the Nazarene, 609 W. Carolina Avenue, Crewe, Virginia 23930.
